Quando suas desculpas não funcionam mais, ele apela para a jovem Wei-Wei e pede para ela fingir ser sua pretendente. Como está devendo vários meses de aluguel para o próprio Wai-Tung, ela topa. Tem início uma série de mal-entendidos e situações embaraçosas. Simon and Wei-Tung are a gay couple living together in Manhattan. To defer the suspicions of Wei-Tung's parents, Simon suggests a marriage of convenience between Wei-Tung and Wei-Wei, an immigrant in need of a green card. When Wei-Tung's parents come to America for the wedding, they insist upon an elaborate banquet, resulting in several complications. 高伟同（赵文瑄饰）是纽约的一名不动产（地产）中介，跟男朋友赛门（米歇尔·利希滕斯坦〔Mitchell Lichtenstein〕饰）同居，但却不断受到台湾的父母亲在电话中催促他结婚，甚至把通过婚介相中的女士送到美国去和伟同见面。为了结束这些麻烦，赛门提出伟同跟租住他房子的大陆女画家顾葳葳（高金素梅饰）协定假结婚，这样可以使葳葳获得合法的留美身份，也可以应付台湾的父母的催婚，一石二鸟。想不到的是伟同的父母竟突然亲临美国逼婚，伟同只得违心地和顾葳葳在市政府办了一个简短的公证仪式。伟同的父亲（郎雄饰）曾是国军的师长，地位显赫，对于这种西方仪式非常不满。高母（归亚蕾饰）也黯然泪下，觉得亏待了儿媳，回去没法向亲朋好友交待。赛门为了缓和气氛，提出要请大家吃中餐。谁料餐厅的老板以前是高父的部下，执意要给“小少爷”办个传统的的喜宴。喜宴后，在大伙闹洞房和酒精的作用下，伟同跟崴崴发生了关系，而且令她怀了孕。赛门因此跟伟同发生了争执，高父情急之下中风被送进了医院，葳葳也决定要将孩子拿掉。整个家庭阴云笼罩。高父高母分别从赛门和伟同那里得知了儿子是同性恋的事实，彼此心照不宣而又不肯戳破，默默的分别以对待儿媳的礼仪对待赛门和葳葳。葳葳终被感动，决定独自生下孩子抚养成人；赛门也同意当崴崴孩子的乾爸。一家人在机场离别，喜宴上拍摄的最后一张照片，是赛门、伟同和葳葳的合影。 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107156/ 7.5/10 5,372 votes |
